Fun Fall Wine Events

Summer is quickly coming to a close and before we know it Fall will be upon us. With Fall come the warm days of Indian Summer in the Bay Area and the start of harvest season which also brings some great wine events in some amazing California venues!Labor Day weekend there are 2 great weekend wine events in Sonoma and Livermore valleys. Fri Sept 2-Sun Sept 4 Sonoma hosts a Wine Country weekend with winemaker dinners, Taste of Sonoma, a walk around wine tasting with food from local Sonoma chefs at McMurray Ranch and a wine auction at Cline Cellars. http://www.sonomawinecountryweekend.com.

The weekend of Sept 9-11 is one of my favorite food and wine events of the year. The Autumn Food & Wine Festival at Northstar in Lake Tahoe is an amazing weekend event not to be missed. Set outdoors in the beautiful mountain setting of Northstar at Lake Tahoe, the weekend has something for everyone. Events include chef demonstrations and cook offs, vertical wine tastings, delicious cocktails, food and wine pairings and culminates with a Grand Tasting on Sunday where chefs pair delicious creations with wines and the wines, food and food and wine pairings are judged by a panel of professionals and most important to the wine makers and chefs by those in attendance with a people choice award.
